Editorial policy

Sources

We rely first on official pages: NDLS, the RSA, the Passport Service, SOLAS, An Garda Síochána and the text of Irish legislation. Court reports and press coverage are used for examples and worded as reported. A fact we cannot open and read is left out or marked as unverified.

Fees and dates

Every fee carries the date we checked it. Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed, and we re-check fees whenever NDLS or the RSA change their pages.

Penalties

We state a penalty only after reading the statute, and we present maximums as ceilings, never as typical sentences.

Cases

We use a case only if we have opened its report. We leave out defendants' names and do not invent composite stories.

Independence

We accept no payment from sellers of documents and carry no affiliate links to them. We do not name or link to scam websites.

Corrections

Tell us through the contact page. Confirmed errors are corrected and logged on the corrections page.

Legal information

Pages that mention the law are information, not legal advice. For advice on your situation, speak to a solicitor.
