Editorial policy
Sources
We rely first on official material: NZTA factsheets, govt.nz, DIA statements and the text of New Zealand legislation. Press reports and agency statements carried by news outlets are used for cases. Where we could not open the official page ourselves, we say so or leave the fact out.
Review dates
Each guide shows the date it was last reviewed. Fees carry the date they were checked, because NZTA and DIA change them. We re-check fees, legal references and links whenever an agency changes its guidance.
Penalties
We state a penalty only after reading the section. Maximums are ceilings, not typical outcomes, and the version of the Act we read is named.
Corrections
If you find an error or a broken link, tell us through the contact page. Logged changes appear on the corrections page.
Independence and scam sites
We accept no payment from sellers of documents and carry no affiliate links to them. We do not name or link to scam websites. Pages that mention the law are information, not legal advice.
