Our order of evidence
- Official pages we have opened: GOV.UK, the issuing body and legislation.gov.uk.
- Official announcements: prosecution, regulator and council press releases.
- Reputable press for cases and prices, worded as “reported”.
- Everything else is not used as a fact.
Rules we follow
- Fees, durations and penalties are quoted only from a page we opened, and fees show the date checked.
- Where two official pages disagree, we say so or leave the point out until it is resolved.
- A maximum penalty is never presented as a usual sentence.
- We do not name or link to sellers. We describe the pattern.
- We do not describe how to forge or test a forged document.
What we leave out
Several things we could not verify have been left out on purpose. They include some doctor-registration steps (the regulator's site was not accessible to us), the current CSCS test format and fees, whether the nursing regulator accepts the US NCLEX, and how long an expired biometric residence permit can be used, which two official pages state differently.
Independence
We accept no payment from sellers of documents and carry no affiliate links to them. See our editorial policy and the official sources we use. Corrections are logged on our corrections page.
Frequently asked questions
How do you decide what to include?
A fact is included if we have opened an official source that states it. Otherwise it is left out or marked as reported.
Why do some topics seem thin?
Where the official page says little, we say little rather than pad the guide with unverified detail.
