How we research and check the Canadian guides

Short answer: For Canada we opened official pages first: statutes on Justice Laws, federal and provincial agencies, regulators and police. Fees carry the date checked. Where a site blocked us or no source exists, the item is left out or marked. We name no sellers and never explain how to forge a document.

Order of evidence

  1. Statutes and official pages we opened ourselves, on 5 October 2026.
  2. Agency, regulator and police notices (ICBC, North Bay police, CELPIP, IDP, the college).
  3. Named news reports for cases, worded as reported.
  4. Keyword data from DataForSEO, used only to choose topics and pages.

Rules we keep

  • A penalty is stated only from the statute text we read, and always as a ceiling.
  • Fees show the date we checked them. Ontario fees were taken from ontario.ca, passport fees from the Government's fee changes page.
  • Where we could not open a page, we say so on the page. The directory marks five jurisdictions this way.
  • We describe patterns and never name or link to seller sites.
  • Where we found no evidence that sellers exist, we say that instead of inventing one.

What we left out on purpose

TopicWhy it is missing or limited
Driver's licence seller ringsNo Canadian police or regulator notice found; the pillar says so.
Forged passports, birth certificates, degreesNo official source opened that documents a Canadian market.
LMIA sale pricesThe news investigations blocked our reading; we use only ESDC and IRCC statements.
TEF Canada / TCF Canada verification procedureNo official verification page opened.
SAAQ, NB, PEI, Yukon and Nunavut detailsSites blocked automated access; agency names are flagged as unopened.
Driving school scamsNo evidence opened.
Provincial offences for driving unlicensedProvincial statutes not opened.

Independence

We accept no money from anyone who sells documents and carry no affiliate links to them. Corrections are logged on our corrections page; the editorial rules are in the editorial policy. The sources are listed on official sources.

Frequently asked questions

How do you decide what to include?

A fact is included only if we opened an official source or a named report that states it. Otherwise we leave it out or mark it as not verified.

Why are some pages about countries other than Canada different?

Each country is built from its own sources. Canada's guides follow what Canadian agencies and courts document, which is why driver's licence selling is covered by a short evidence note rather than a seller story.
