Editorial policy
Sources
Official sources come first: statutes on the Justice Laws site, federal, provincial and territorial agency pages, regulator and police notices, and test-provider warnings. News reports are used for cases and are worded as reported. What we cannot support we leave out.
Dates and fees
Each guide shows its review date. Fees and deadlines carry the date we checked them, because they change.
Penalties and rights
A penalty is quoted only from a statute we read, and it is always described as a ceiling, never as the usual outcome. The guides are information, not legal advice; a lawyer or legal-aid clinic can advise on a real case.
Corrections
Factual errors are corrected quickly and logged on the corrections page. Tell us through contact.
Independence
We take no money from sellers of documents and place no affiliate links to them. The full method is on how we research.
